It is extremely important to be able to predict the kinds and quantities of hazardous waste materials that may be generated in order to design a satisfactory laboratory facility. In operating a laboratory, the janitorial staff should be careful not to mix normal waste products, such as paper, with hazardous chemicals, infectious or radioactive materials.
