ABSTRACT
Subungual hematomas are common nail bed injuries caused by trauma to the ngers or toes. e aected nail shows a patchy or diuse pigmentation that migrates distally with nail growth.
Hematoma does not exclude malignancy, as patients with melanoma of the nail unit may experience spontaneous bleeding.
