ABSTRACT

The implementation of Six Sigma in a company has not necessarily resulted in success. Numerous researches have been conducted to study the critical factors that affect the successful implementation of Six Sigma or the factors resulting in Six Sigma failure. For a project that is undertaken, it is very important to establish a link between the project and the business strategy. It should demonstrate the benet to the project in monetary terms and the way in which it will help business strategy (Antony and Coronado 2002). In their study, Jiju Antony and Ricardo Banuelas Coronado (2002) very briey explain various factors that are critical to a successful Six Sigma methodology. Some of these critical success factors are involvement and commitment of the management, cultural change communication, organizational infrastructure, and training.
