ABSTRACT
Sebum removal or reduction is often a major performance claim for cosmetic products. Given the wide variety of products acting on sebum levels, and the complex nature of the skin which secretes sebum, accurate measurement of product effects on sebum levels for claims documentation can be difficult. Effective claims documentation requires an understanding of the mode of product action, the process of sebum secretion, and the methods of sebum measurement.
