ABSTRACT
Quantalo idal nuclei will p lay an i m p o r t a n t role in severa l p a r t s of th e text. We shall show in the next c h a p te r t h a t ev e ry quanta lo id arises f rom a free one (as described in Example 4 of Chap. II, §2) via a q u an ta lo id a l nucleus . W hen we discuss a u t o m a t a t h e o ry , we shall develop the t h e o r y of s y n t a c t i c nuclei to ana lyze the notion of syn tac t ic congruence.
