ABSTRACT
Applications of the Radon transform to different types of computerized axial tomographic or computed tomographic imaging establish a close relationship to the Fourier transform. The applications go beyond the human body: they are being used in scanning portions of three-dimensional bodies in fields other than medicine, such as optics, oceanography, seismology, geology, oil industry, and others.
