ABSTRACT

It is evident, that the increase of any crop production in both quantity and quality does not depend only on the improvement of soil and plant conditions, but also largely on using new irrigation systems as well as using improved methods and technology to fulfill the agricultural operations in the correct time to keep down the cost of production. The objectives of irrigation management should be shifted from obtaining maximum grain yield per cultivated area to maximum grain yield per unit of water. In other words, the best irrigation system is the system by which water use efficiency (WUE) is maximized. The matching of the water irrigation system to the agricultural machines is considered an important question that must be answered.
