ABSTRACT
The guidance of ISO 14000 on the development and implemen tation of environmental management systems and principles, in cluding their coordination with other management systems, is ap plicable to any organization interested in having or improving an environmental management system. The guidelines are for volun tary use as an internal management tool. They build on the core elements of ISO 14001 and also include additional elements impor tant to a comprehensive environmental management system. The scope of ISO 14001 is described later in this primer.
