ABSTRACT

There are many practical applications for immunosensors if they can be reliably made. Imrnunosensors may be useful for quantifying how well the human immune system is functioning, and could serve as valuable clinical diagnostic tools. There may also be significant applications in identifying environmental contaminants. Although there has been a great deal of scientific research on imrnunosensors, starting in the early 1970s, commercial immunosensors are just beginning to emerge into the marketplace.
