Blistering may be a feature of a wide range of skin diseases. The morphology of the blister depends on the level of the split within the skin (94). Subcorneal (beneath the stratum corneum) and intraepidermal blisters (within the prickle cell layer) rupture easily, whereas subepidermal blisters (between the dermis and epidermis) are less fragile.
