ABSTRACT
In countries where FGM is predominant, late complications affecting the vulva may be the cause of hospital admission. In the western world, FGM presents mainly in one of two ways. Either the woman has just married and it has proved impossible to consummate the marriage due to the barrier of scar tissue, or she has become pregnant despite the barrier at the introitus, which will complicate delivery.
