ABSTRACT

Cd(TePh)2.depe or C22H34P2Te2Cd [depe = 1,2-bis(diethylphosphino)ethane]. This compound melts at 87.5°C-89°C (Brennan et  al. 1990). To obtain it, depe (1.90 mM) was added to Cd(TePh)2 (0.58 mM) suspended in MeCN and pyridine (5 mL). The yellow solution was concentrated to ca. 3 mL, saturated with toluene/ heptane (5:1 volume ratio), and cooled (–20°C) to give yellow diamonds. All reactions were performed in an inert atmosphere.
