ABSTRACT
Chapter 9 covers the structure and modelling of turbulent flames. It starts with the basics of turbulent flow. Then different turbulence modeling approaches and turbulent premixed flames are discussed. It also talks about the structure and burning velocity of turbulent premixed flames. Then there is a discussion on different regimes of premixed flame, which is followed by modelling approaches. The structure and different modelling approaches for turbulent non-premixed flame is taken up subsequently in detail. Finally, the chapter ends with a brief discussion on turbulent partially premixed combustion.
