ABSTRACT
In the outpatient or clinic setting, the physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP) (nurse specialist) obtains a complete history, performs physical examination (108), and provides care in collaboration with and under the supervision of a physician. The terms nurse practitioner and nurse specialist can be used interchangeably.
