ABSTRACT
The condensed ectomesenchyme is now referred to as the dental papilla. It gives rise to the dentin and pulp of the mature tooth. Another layer of condensed
ectomesenchyme cells surrounds the dental organ. This layer is called the dental follicle, and gives rise to the supporting tissues of the tooth (cementum, PDL, and alveolar bone) (127).
