ABSTRACT
I t can be argued that there are few truly accidentaldeaths, since many, if not most pediatric accidents, after careful review of the events leading up to them, are the result of neglect. Many of those incidents of neglect are not willful, but rather the result of ignorance or lack of common sense. Conversely, willful neglect constitutes homicide.
