ABSTRACT

Numerous reports and guidelines in relation to neurogenic bladder dysfunction are edited by several international urological associations. The European Association of Urology (EAU) put together a working party to provide information on the incidence, definitions, diagnostic, therapy, quality of life issues, and follow-up of patients with neurogenic bladder dysfunction. The EAU publised guidelines on urinary incontinence that were updated in 2014. The EAU released an update of the guidelines for the management of chronic pelvic pain. It emphasizes on the necessity of a multimodal therapeutic approach. The pain management guidelines, also elaborated by the EAU, are available on the same website. The EAU guidelines on the treatment and follow-up of non-neurogenic male lower urinary tract symptoms including benign prostatic obstruction have been updated in 2014. It includes an exhaustive report of the drug treatments and the new surgical techniques available.
