ABSTRACT

REACH requires that the European Chemicals Agency identify and recommend to the EC candidate priority substances for inclusion in REACH Annex XIV, taking into account the opinion of Member States. At the end of the prioritization process, the candidate priority substances will or will not (e.g., sufcient controls established by other legislation) require authorization. This Annex table includes a list of substances and their intrinsic properties referred to in REACH Article 57, transitional arrangements (i.e., latest application date, sunset date), exempted categories of uses, and review periods. Substances on this list can no longer be used, placed on the market, or imported into the European Union (EU) after its respective sunset date unless granted an authorization.
