ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Typical beam and column sections, both rolled and built up by welding, are introduced. The principal types of different welded connections are discussed, namely, splices in beams and columns, column base, column cap, beam-to-beam connections, and beam-to-column connections. The chapter concludes with a note on the principles of formation of different types of castellated beams and their weld details.
