ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT The importance and necessity of quality control during fabrication are discussed. The concept of preparing an agreed quality assurance plan (QAP) to be followed in the fabrication stage is introduced. The relevant activities for achieving quality fabrication are dealt with in this chapter. The various methods of inspection (nondestructive and destructive tests) are discussed. The chapter ends with the salient features of inspection of a trial assembly of the fabricated structure to ensure that the same has been fabricated as per the requirements of drawings.
