ABSTRACT
Fluid measurements-including the measurement of viscosity, pressure, velocity, and ¡ow rateare the subject of this chapter. Viscosity is a property related to how a ¡uid reacts under the action of an applied shear; two methods for measuring viscosity are presented. Pressure, as we will see, is measured with a pitot and pitot-static tube. Velocity of the ¡ow can be determined by using a pitotstatic tube. Flow rate in closed conduits can be measured with meters; for open-channel ¡ow, weirs can be used.
