Abstract With the popularity of mobile data and applications, we introduce the system of collaborative and opportunistic mobile content dissemination with directional antennas, where the content is distributed within the network by device-to-device opportunistic communications and the network nodes are equipped with directional antennas. In such a system, opportunistic contact between mobile devices carried by humans or vehicles, is capable of providing high-bandwidth communication capacity for content dissemination via short-range communication technologies like millimeter wave communications, Ultra-Wide Bandwidth (UWB), and so on, which is known as opportunistic collaborative content dissemination.
