ABSTRACT
An understanding of pipe materials is important to the successful mainte nance operator. Each pipe type has different hydraulic characteristics, typical defects, and maintenance needs.
Pipe materials are classified as being flexible or rigid. Flexible materials include all the plastics and most pipe liners. Rigid pipes are made of tile, con crete, steel, iron, or brick.
