First, there are the numerous small losses that all projects experience annually whose aggregate costs have minimal financial impact. From a safety perspective these are first aid and minor medical treatment cases. It is generally more efficient for the project to absorb the costs related to these occurrences as part of the cost of doing business rather than recover them through standard insurance claim processes.
