ABSTRACT

Aluminum-zirconium-glycine (AZG) antiperspirant salts were first introduced to the marketplace in the early 1960s and have grown steadily in use. It is generally recognized that AZG salts are more efficacious than aluminum-containing antiperspirant ingredients such as aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH). Due to their superior performance, AZG actives are predominant in many product forms, including white and soft solids, anhydrous roll-ons, and clear gels. Regulatory considerations do not allow AZG actives to be used in spraytype products such as aerosols and pump sprays.
