ABSTRACT

Data base software packages are computer codes that are usually one of many potential programs that may be stored in computer memory for access by an operator. The execution of the data base program is enabled through the use of specific operating system commands. Once activated, the data base software offers the user a unique set of computer commands which permit the storage, retrieval and organization of information at a much faster rate than would be possible if the operation were attempted in a manual fashion. In addition, the data base software also may be utilized by other programs that are operating on the computer system so that the desired data manipulations can be implemented without human interaction.
