ABSTRACT
Graphics are essential in statistical science. In spatial statistics, plotting the original spatial data is useful for checking errors in the data record, for motivating the appropriate analysis, and for investigating anomalies. Plotting transformations of the data, and results of the analysis, is essential for exploratory and formal statistical analysis. Effective plots of spatial data are important for communication.
