ABSTRACT
Abstract: The basics features of both exploration (diamond) and blasthole drillings are introduced. The main operational parameters in drilling works are briefly described. The rock properties affecting the drillability and their relations to operational parameters are discussed. The basic features of both surface and underground works, and their design principles are described. The main types and properties of explosives are given. Initiation methods and devices such as electrical and nonelectrical systems are mentioned.
