ABSTRACT

The ADVANCE Block is used to hold up a transaction while service is being performed. The processor will take a transaction that enters this Block and place it on what is called the future events chain (FEC). When a transaction is placed on this chain, it is no longer a candidate for being moved during a re-scan of the current events chain. For example, the time a truck is being loaded will be represented in GPSS/H by an ADVANCE Block.
