ABSTRACT

We have been doing arithmetic in GPSS/H when it was needed without commenting on it. This is because arithmetic is allowed in the operands of the various Blocks and is done in a logical manner. Thus, when we have a Block such as

ADVANCE 2*100

it was not necessary to point out that the time on the FEC for the transaction was 200. However, it is now necessary to formally go through the steps done in performing arithmetic because there are certain cautions which must be observed. These have to do with the original integer nature of calculations in GPSS.
