This chapter presents results of selecting effective competitive local strains of Rhizobium galegae. Using qualitative parameters (nodulating ability and nitrogen –fixing activity) evaluating rhizobial symbiotic relationship with host plant, the most efficient competitive Rhizobium galegae variants were selected. Quantitative analysis of isolates was performed to define the types of competitive ability (saprophytic, rhizospheric, nodulating). The selected cultures of nodulating bacteria were identified as Rhizobium galegae strains infecting exclusively seeds of Galega orientalis Lam. and capable to set up efficient symbiosis with host plant.
