ABSTRACT
Delivery sheaths We have used the long blue Mullins-type sheath from Cook (Cook, Bloomington, IN, USA) to deliver the rst and second generation of Figulla-Occlutech occluders (Table 51.2). Recently, Occlutech has introduced a new delivery set consisting of a braided delivery sheath with a dilator, a hemostatic valve (a Touhy-Borst adapter), and a transparent loader. e sheath has a 45° distal curve and is 80 cm long. Its prole is 7-12 Fr with 1 Fr increments. e dilator has a 0.035 inch guide wire compatibility. For the new Figulla Flex II, the required diameter of the sheath has been reduced by 1-3 Fr (Table 51.3), which is of paramount importance for use in small children. Compatibility between device size and sheath prole should be checked before their use (Tables 51.2 and 51.3).
