ABSTRACT

Introduction Accurate anatomical and physiological diagnosis is the foundation of a successful catheter-based therapeutic procedure. As such, a number of complementary imaging modalities have been developed to dene, in real time, specic aspects of the heart and circulation for interventional applications. In the evolution of our understanding of the cardiovascular system, angiography and uoroscopy were the rst to be developed, and the angiography suite remains the cornerstone around which the interventional suite is built.
