ABSTRACT
A number of factors have contributed to the remarkable develop-
ment of renewable energies, especially of PV, in Germany: the oil
crisis of 1974, the widespread anti-nuclear attitude of the German
population, the climate issue, the dream of entirely environmental-
friendly energy forms, to some extent also the lack of economic
considerations, etc.
