There are many options in terms of the type of implant, the type of access and the position in the chest wall that it occupies.
Types of implants Material • Silicone. Early silicone gels were liquid in nature, but currently favoured implants
have a cohesive gel that is thicker and does not flow. It can be preformed in an anatomical shape and is supposed to have a smaller risk of leakage but does require a longer incision.
