ABSTRACT
Lymphoedema is the abnormal collection of protein-rich fluid in the interstitium causing swelling. The cause is a reduced efficiency of lymph clearance due to an underlying lymphatic problem that may be congenital (primary) or acquired (secondary). The disease is limited to tissues superficial to deep fascia.
