ABSTRACT

Endometrial cancer (cancer of the uterine corpus) is the most common gynecologic cancer. It ranks fourth in terms of incident cancers in women and eighth in terms of age-adjusted mortality (1). Endometrial cancer accounted for around 6% of all incident cancers and 2% of cancer deaths in women in the United States in 1999. In Western populations, endometrial cancer is most commonly found between the ages of 50 and 65 years, and is rare before the age of 40. The peak incidence occurs in the postmenopausal age group (2).
