Contraindications The presence of malignancy within the urinary bladder is a contraindication to bladder flap reimplantation. Neurogenic bladder dysfunction as well as urinary tract infection should be managed preoperatively. Cases of diminished bladder capacity are unsuitable for this procedure because a healthy flap of adequate length cannot be made.
