ABSTRACT
During the past 10 years, the widespread use of screening serum calcium measurements has led to an early identification of subtle presentation of primary hyperparathyroidism, which has resulted in an increased prevalence of the disease with a larger number of parathyroidectomies performed. Two recent leading articles recommend early surgical intervention in primary hyperparathyroidism (1,2).
