ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the current strategies for managing carcinoid tumors of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The discussion highlights the consequences and complications of these strategies and also presents background information concerning the history and epidemiology of carcinoid tumors. Finally, we detail the progression of management strategies and the complications associated with each tumor, according to site of origin.
