ABSTRACT
The type of orthotopic bladder substitute presented here is a low pressure, high compliance reservoir which achieves continence and preserves renal function while also avoiding fluid and electrolyte imbalances. In this chapter we describe the surgical technique to construct an ileal orthotopic bladder substitute combined with an afferent tubular segment.
