ABSTRACT
Models of carcinogenesis represent both a coherent synthesis of current knowledge and a tool for identifying gaps in our understanding that require further investigation. Accordingly, all models epitomize a certain planned obsolescence, and this chapter is presented with the expectation that time will modify and perhaps erase some of what is proposed.
