ABSTRACT
Anal fissure is the most common cause of painful anal bleeding. The symptoms of anal fissure are often mistaken for those of hemorrhoidal disease, and patients may be reluctant to undergo detailed anal examination due to discomfort. However, when fissures are identified and promptly treated, patients may be extremely grateful for symptomatic relief.
