ABSTRACT
What is neuromodulation? It could be described as the ability of the nervous system to regulate impulses. Interventional neuromodulation, as applied to the treatment of pain, is any nondestructive and reversible therapy. This includes the use of implanted or nonimplanted electrical stimulation systems and chemical neuromodulation, the infusion of chemical agents directly into the cerebrospinal fluid.
