ABSTRACT

Digital humans are characters that live inside the virtual world. Th ey can be as strong as we program them to be; they can run for miles without fatiguing; and they may collide with objects without feeling pain and causing injury. Physics-based modeling and simulation not only provide for the science behind making the simulation as realistic as possible but also provide a method to predict human motion. Th is is a signifi cant departure from current methods that require user manipulation of the digital mannequin.
