ABSTRACT

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used successfully in treating a wide range of conditions, including women’s health problems, for around 3500 years. Today, acupuncture as a component of TCM, is increasingly being used in the West. Ahadian1 has shown that the artificial barriers between the integration of acupuncture and conventional medicine are disappearing and ‘acupuncture as a therapy is increasingly being used for gynaecological conditions’.2
