ABSTRACT

Based on the literature, it can be expected that 15-20% of couples within reproductive age will encounter difficulties in achieving a pregnancy, and medical attention will be required in order to start a family. Around 30% of these couples are infertile due to a significant isolated male factor, and associated male and female factors are present in an additional 20% of cases1. Therefore, an abnormal male factor is involved in about half of the couples seeking infertility treatment.
