ABSTRACT
A multitude of models can be formulated which incorporate ideas from population genetics theory and epidemiology. These new hybrid models have applications to many plant and animal systems where the systems are evolving and new diseases are emerging (11). However, to ensure their applicability, the development of these models must be considered in their biological context.
