ABSTRACT
A shaft or other external feature such as a pin, a tab, or a feature made up of opposing external sides of a part are at MMC when they are at their largest allowable size. Some like to refer to it as when the feature is the heaviest. For example, a shaft with a size of 0.125 ± .010 would be at MMC when it measures 0.135 or its largest size.
