ABSTRACT

Expression of large amounts of speci„c proteins has become more and more important to scienti„c research in academic „elds, and is invaluable to industry as well. In fact, protein labeling, protein crystallization, production of antibodies, and synthesis of proteins for gene transcriptional regulation mandate a fair amount of pure proteins. Recently, DNA recombination technology, gene transfer, and expression techniques have made it possible to overexpress a protein of interest at a very high level in a short period.1-4 Different strategies and expression systems have been developed using prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression vectors and hosts.
